AYESAŞ introduced its Next Generation Operator Console at its stand, and presented its Integrated Platform Management System at an event entitled the “Integrated Platform Management System”, in which Berk Ünlü, Senior System Engineer at AYESAŞ, summarised their activities in this field. The Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), which is to be installed aboard the TCG ANADOLU Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship, is based on the Navantia system developed for this class of ship, but has been adapted for this particular project. In accordance with the agreement signed between Navantia and AYESAŞ in March 2017, AYESAŞ has completed the design, material supply and production of IPMS consoles. The adaptation of both the human-machine interface and user manuals has also been undertaken by AYESAŞ as part of the production of 18 consoles in total. Through this project, AYESAŞ will gain the ability to provide support to the IPMS throughout its lifecycle. Under the agreement signed between AYESAŞ and Navantia, AYESAŞ will be the contact address for the IPMS in Turkey and in countries with which Turkey has close relations.
In the presentation, AYESAŞ’s vision for the IPMS was summarised as follows:
- Adapting the knowledge of the IPMS gained in the Multi-Purpose Amphibious Assault Ship project to similar projects
- Carrying out activities towards a fully indigenous and national IPMS, starting with the critical sub-components
- Carrying out collaborative and export-related activities in the international arena
At its stand, AYESAŞ presented the Next Generation Operator Console to domestic and foreign visitors to the event through a virtual reality application that allowed them to experience it for themselves. In a presentation about the product, the participants were informed that AYESAŞ has completed the design, production, testing and qualification phases of the console, and that the console will soon enter into service with Turkish Naval Forces Command.
