Prof. Dr. Görgün continued as follows: “As ASELSAN, we worked tirelessly to develop our products and systems with our national resources, to reduce our foreign dependency, to invest in the future, and to support the management of the supply chains of our country within defence industry ecosystem. We gave over 5,500 buy orders to our suppliers, totalling over 1.5 billion dollars, in the last year. 3,300 of these orders went to the suppliers within our country, worth over 1 billion dollars. We continued supporting our suppliers financially in 2021 as well. Even in pandemic conditions, we transferred them over 1 billion dollars in that year. We are doing our utmost to reach a completely independent supply chain. We successfully indigenized 197 different products in 2021, and reached over 500 such products in the last three years; making sure more than 200 million dollars stayed in our country.”
