BAYRAKTAR AKINCI UCAV Flew 13 Hours and 24 Minutes with 1,360 kg Payload

BAYRAKTAR AKINCI Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) continues to perform its skills in flight tests. During its flight on 9 July, AKINCI managed to stay in the air for 13 hours and 24 minutes with a payload of 1,360 kg, close to the maximum payload it could carry, and reached an altitude of 30,000 feet. The payload AKINCI carried was the NEB (Penetrator Bomb) developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE.

The flight was carried out in the presence of Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and official delegations of the end users within the ongoing design verification activities of AKINCI in Çorlu. AKINCI has performed a total of 874 sorties in test and training flights so far. In its press release announcing the development, BAYKAR also shared the information that AKINCI hit the targets with full accuracy in the firing test carried out on 5 July, 2021, with the smart munitions MAM-C, MAM-L and MAM-T developed by Roketsan.
