BAYRAKTAR AKINCI Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) reached an altitude of 38,039 feet (11,594 meters) in the flight test, which started on 6 July and was completed on 7 July. Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, the President of Defence Industries, in his social media post on the subject, emphasised that AKINCI broke the altitude record in Turkish aviation history by reaching the highest altitude reached by a domestic and national aircraft.
AKINCI carried out the flight, which reached the mentioned altitude, within the scope of design verification activities and under the supervision of official delegations. AKINCI covered 7,507 km in the flight, which was managed from the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Centre in Çorlu and took 25 hours and 46 minutes. AKINCI, which has made 870 sorties in test and training flights so far, stayed in the air for a total of 347 hours and 28 minutes.
The first delivery of AKINCI is scheduled for this year. Test activities continue with AKINCI S1 and S2, which are the first aircraft of mass production and transferred to Çorlu. Integration studies of other mass production models are carried out at Baykar National UAV/UCAV R&D and Production Centre.
