Samsun Yurt Defence’s (SYS) leading light and medium calibre firearms brand CANiK took part in the 2023 IDPA World Championship that was held in the USA. CANiK was able to clinch the championship in the competition, which was held in the USA between 12 and 14 October. Cahit Utku Aral, General Manager of SYS, stated the following: “Our athletes won the IDPA European Championship last year, and they have crowned that victory by getting the top spot IDPA World Championship and bringing its trophy to our country. We will continue to support marksmanship, both in Türkiye and abroad.
Award-Winning Pistol Brought Championship
SYS’ firearms brand CANiK won another trophy for Türkiye in sports shooting. 2023 IDPA World Championship, held every four years by IDPA, is known as one of the world’s largest sport shooting competitions, and CANiK took the championship by storm. Nils Jonasson, CANiK Team Captain placed first in the Stock Service Pistol (SSP) and Iron Sight categories, which saw the participation of the world’s best shooters. Nils Jonasson competed in the SSP with CANiK’s award-winning pistol, the SFx RIVAL-S, making CANiK prove itself to the world once again with its completely domestic and national technologies. Alperen Kıvılcım, another CANiK Team athlete, renowned for his championships in Türkiye and Indonesia, ranked top 12 in his category and top 25 overall in the 2023 IDPA World Championship, marking a great success for his first IDPA World Championship debut.
