DT Defence Keeps Increasing the Added Value It Creates for the Sector

by MSI

DT Defence, which aims to be one of the significant “project contractors” in the defence sector, devoted its agenda of the fair to its efforts towards this goal. The company’s activities include developing indigenous solutions to the sector’s needs. DT Defence promoted its power electronics already in service within land and air platforms in the fair, such as rectifiers, power transmission systems and fans.

DT Defence also provides solutions that aren’t produced in Turkey from its collaborations with foreign organisations as a trustworthy supplier. As such, the company added Thermal Management Systems to its current collaboration with AMETEK in April, diversifying its services. The company also presented products from this new partnership as well. Cihan Mendi, General Manager and Co-Founder of DT Defence, spoke about how the sector reacted to their expansion of cooperation with AMETEK: “We’re getting plenty of positive feedback. We’re taking the steps to domestically produce some of the sub-components with our partnership with one of the most important global suppliers, AMETEK Aerospace and Defence as we consider realising some of our value-added projects here in Turkey. We plan to solve supply chain problems emanating from importing said subsystems from abroad. We also evaluate that we will be contributing to regional exports of Turkey.”

DT Defence was in touch with plenty of companies during the fair. Some of these included Aeros, ASELSAN, BMC, COBO SpA (CTRIA), FNSS, Menatek, Meteksan Defence, Otokar, Pavotek, Roketsan, Savronik, STM, Turkish Aerospace and Unidef. The company’s talks with ASELSAN and Turkish Aerospace resulted in contracts.

DT Defence, Aeros and KSM Cooperate in Aerospace

DT Defence, Aeros and Karya System Engineering (KSM) commenced a new collaboration with the contract they signed on the last day of the fair. The strategic collaboration contract deals with development of a new generation electro-mechanic aircraftsystems, to be used in both military and civilian aircraft. As such, business development, product development, engineering, certification and qualification activities are in the scope of the contract.

DT Defence diversified its services with an expansion of its collaboration with AMETEK.

In this collaboration, each company will focus on its strengths. The primary aim of the companies is to meet the demands of Turkey in aerospace and start domestication of some license manufactured equipment. The next steps of the collaboration will include being a part of export markets and development of avionic subsystems to be used in the entire world. Cost effectiveness, new technologies and a high quality is also among targets of this collaboration.

The first prototypes resulting from this collaboration are expected to be tested in June next year.
