The 2020 Annual Report of the EDA Has Been Announced; Research and Technology Projects Did Not Slow Down During the Covid-19 Pandemic

European Defence Agency (EDA), published its annual report for 2020 on 30 March.
The prominent figures regarding EDA’s 2020 activities are listed as follows:
⦁ 5 PESCO (Permanent Structured Cooperation) projects received direct EDA support.
⦁ 123 ad hoc Research & Technology (R&T) and capability programs and projects were carried out.
⦁ 240 other activities were managed related to capacity development, R&T and defence industry.
⦁ By of the end of 2020, 37 new R&T projects were under negotiation.
⦁ They will further add to EDA’s existing R&T portfolio of currently around 50 ongoing ad hoc R&T projects. Their total budget was recorded as approximately 278 million Euros.
⦁ The total budget of EDA in 2020 was 106.52 million Euros. At the end of the year, the number of employees of EDA was 170.
Turkey was not covered in the report.
