Ministry of National Defence (MND) announced on April 30 that 9 more KAPLAN ATVs developed by FNSS were delivered as part of the Anti-Tank Vehicles (ATV) project. After the successful completion of acceptance procedures, starting on 5 April, 7 of the KAPLAN-ATVs were delivered to 5th Armoured Brigade Command in Gaziantep and 2 of them were delivered to 2nd Armoured Brigade Command in Kahramanmaraş.
Within the scope of the project, by the date of the announcement, 113 vehicles in total consisting of 94 KAPLAN ATVs and 19 PARS ATVs had been delivered. With the procurement of these vehicles, the manoeuvre capabilities of anti-tank units are expected to get aligned with mechanized units and get an increase in their operational effectivity. These vehicles can fire KORNET-E and OMTAS anti-tank guided missiles from Anti-Tank Remote Controlled Turret (ARCT) also developed by FNSS.
