A memorandum of understanding was signed between Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) and HAVELSAN on 4 October regarding the usage of National Enterprise Resource Management System (KOVAN).
According to the memorandum, it is aimed that in BOTAS, processes like human resources, finances, and logistics will be executed in an end-to-end, secure, easy, and traceable manner with the KOVAN system HAVELSAN developed. KOVAN was developed as an alternative to Enterprise Resource Planning software, usually from foreign software companies. KOVAN aims to reduce the foreign dependency on licensed software in its field to a zero. With its indigenous architecture, it helps to integrate the business processes within public organisations, military organisations and private organisations and execute them. KOVAN was developed with international standards and state-of-the-art technology in mind, and the software may help protect the data of Turkey’s critical infrastructure with national systems.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries, Dr. Alparslan Bayraktar, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Dr. Celal Sami Tüfekci, Vice President of Defence Industries and Chairman of the Board of Directors of HAVELSAN, Mustafa Şeker, Vice President of Defence Industries, Burhan Özcan, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of BOTAS, and Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, CEO of HAVELSAN.
