HAVELSAN made a deal during DSA 2022 for the first export of Hezarfen Parachute Simulator. The simulator is used by commando units and special forces units and was picked by Malaysian Armed Forces. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) dealing with the procurement of 6 simulators was signed between HAVELSAN and Widad Business Group (WBG). WBG is active in construction and integrated facility management fields.
Speaking on the MoU, Tan Sri Muhammad Ikmal, Chairman of Executive Board at WBG said that they were excited about partnering with HAVELSAN for training and developing simulation technologies and bringing one of the best companies in its field to Malaysia. He also pointed out these systems will have the potential to bring significant cost reductions to the training budget of Malaysian Armed Forces and added: “This is merely the first step of our cooperation, and we know there are more systems that will provide very significant benefits here, with competitive costs and advanced technologies.”
Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar, CEO of HAVELSAN has said that they were following the military, public, and private projects in Malaysia very closely and they have established a regional office in Kuala Lumpur and added: “Malaysia is a keystone for HAVELSAN in Southeast Asia. As such, we are happy to have found a reliable partner in WBG to expand our reach and strengthen our ties in the country.”
HAVELSAN and NS Corporation to Cooperate
HAVELSAN also signed a cooperation contract with Negeri Sembilan State Organisation NS Corporation in line with the state’s “Malaysia Vision 2.0” initiative on the third day of the fair. According to the contract, both parties will cooperate to establish a NS Aerospace Valley and Unmanned Vehicle Valley in Negeri Sembilan state.
