KAREL signed contracts with TEI and ASELSAN for mass production on the second day of the fair.
The Memorandum of Understanding on KARTACA New Generation Countermeasure Dispense System signed between ASELSAN and KAREL involves the mass production of Dispense and Magazine Base Unit (DMBU) component of KARTACA countermeasures system. KARTACA was developed by ASELSAN to be a new generation of countermeasures system for aerial platforms. DMBU was designed for this system by a partnership between KAREL and ASELSAN. DMBU can deploy smart munitions in addition to regular ones. ASELSAN and KAREL emphasises that their system is one of the world’s first to have the ability to deploy smart munitions. The system was developed to be compliant with NATO standards and successfully completed its field tests.
KAREL signed its second contract with TEI, a supply contract for Engine Control Systems Hardware. According to the contract, KAREL will be responsible for mass production of Engine Control Unit (ECU) for TEI’s PD170 Diesel Engine. The first prototype of ECU was completed in 2017, with its software developed by TEI and hardware by KAREL. The unit successfully passed all tests, including flight tests on board of ANKA UAV. KAREL highlights that this unit is the first aircraft ECU developed by Turkish defence and aerospace industry and proved its worth on the field.
KAREL Presented Its Expanding Product Family
KAREL, which offers solutions for land, sea, and air platforms, showcased its expanding product family to the visitors of its booth. In it, KAREL’s latest models of Military IP Telephone Exchange, VOIP Military Gateway, ruggedizied analog phone, communications switching system, vehicle intercom system, alarm and announce system, military hand held computer, IP phones and Back-up Flight Instrument product categories were exhibited.
