by MSI

Steps continue to come from KoçSavunma towards the export of the Underwater Telephone, which is also used by the Turkish Naval Forces. Having signed a contract for the use of Underwater Telephone on a foreign naval vessel in 2020, KoçSavunma entered 2021 with another contract for the export of a different version of the same product. The exported Underwater Phone model features an English menu/interface. Details of the development were shared in a press release issued by KoçSavunma on 22 February.

KoçSavunma’s export endeavours are not limited to the Underwater Telephone. It has previously showcased products such as Echorium Diver Detection Sonar Family, Underwater Detection and Positioning System, Scoring System (MTS), Acoustic Tracking and Monitoring System (AİYS) and Underwater Environment Model (SORTAM) at international defence fairs, and especially export efforts for products such as Diver Detection Sonar and Ship Integrated Information System are expected to bear fruit in 2021.

Having smart buoys regularly monitor the cleanliness of seawater in the Gulf of Fethiye currently, KoçSavunma, participated in the buoy procurement tender for the Philippines Coast Guard, after becoming a member of the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA).

KoçSavunma, which also became a member of SAHA Istanbul in 2020, will continue its efforts to open up to different sectors in 2021. Expressing his opinions on the subject in a press release by KoçSavunma on 22 February, KoçSavunma Engineering Manager Hakan Öktem stated that the company made all deliveries of 2020 within the framework of commitments and on time. Öktem added, “Despite the difficult conditions caused by the pandemic all over the world as well as in our country, KoçSavunma focused on R&D and innovation activities as a domestic and national defence company in this period. In this context, we received important orders from home and abroad and signed foreign representation contracts with many companies. Thus, we are proud to close 2020 as a solution partner sought by defence companies both at home and abroad. We fully believe that this fruitful period will maintain its stability in the upcoming period.”
