Minister Akar Inspects the Works of MKEK

Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defence, carried out examinations and inspections of ministerial units on 16 June, accompanied by General Yaşar Güler, Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces; General Ümit Dündar, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces; General Hasan Küçükakyüz, Commander of the Turkish Air Force; Admiral Adnan Özbal, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces, and Muhsin Dere, Deputy Minister of National Defence.

Minister Akar and the Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) command echelons first visited the Pharmaceutical Plant of the Ministry of National Defence. Minister Akar was briefed about the manufacturing process of the drugs being developed against COVID-19.

The committee then visited the Mask Manufacturing Plant of the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Company (MKEK). Minister Akar and the accompanying committee inspected the mask-making machine developed by MKEK, and were briefed on the non-stop mask manufacturing works. After that, they visited the Gazi Ammunition Factory to inspect the Sahra Respiratory Device and the arms produced by the company through indigenous and domestic means. Minister Akar and the accompanying delegation congratulated MKEK personnel on their successful works.
