QTS 92 AL SHAMAL, constructed by Anadolu Shipyard for Qatar, was delivered to Qatari Emiri Naval Forces with a ceremony on 25 February that was graced by Hulusi Akar, Minister of National Defence and Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Minister of Defence of Qatar, Adnan Özbal, Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces and Muhsin Dere, Deputy Minister of National Defence.
The first vessel for the project, QTS 91 AL DOHA, was delivered last year. During the ceremony, a film was also showed, depicting the training activities on the first ship. At the end of the ceremony, Minister Al Attiyah presented the ship commander with Qatari Naval Ensign, which was raised on the flagpole of the ship with the Qatari Anthem.
