Organising Committee of SEDEC 2020 Expands Measures against COVID-19

Preparations are continuing meticulously for SEDEC 2020, which will be held with international participation on 15–17 September, prioritising the homeland security, border security and internal security system sectors. The organising committee of SEDEC made an inspection of the measures being taken against COVID-19 by Congresium Ankara, where the event will be held, and shared details with the public on 27 July.

The preparations of the organising committee of SEDEC 2020, which is being held with the support of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and the Defence and Aerospace Industry Exporters’ Association (SSI), include various measures to be applied in the event area, such as the rearrangement of the floor plan. Following the most recent examination, the following additional preparations and arrangements have been requested from Congresium Ankara to ensure the safety of the participants, and compliance with social distancing and hygiene rules:

Building and Hall Entrances

  • Thermal cameras will be installed at Gate A.
  • Social distancing instructions will be mounted at Gate A (for entry and exit).
  • Barriers will be placed in front of Gate A.
  • Social distancing instructions will be mounted in front of the registration desk.
  • Direction signs will be mounted to direct participants from the parking lots to Gate A.
  • Entry to the event area without a mask will be prohibited.

Lifts and Escalators

  • Social distancing instructions will be mounted informing the participants maintain a two-step distance between users.
  • Visitors will be prohibited from using the lifts.

Building Hygiene

  • All the areas will be disinfected before and after working hours.
  • Cleaning personnel will wear masks and gloves.
  • Sterilisation stations will be provided at various points in the event area.

Heating and Cooling throughout the Building

  • All halls in the building will be ventilated with fresh air.

Use of Toilets

  • The capacity of the toilets will be reduced by 50 percent.
  • Social distancing instructions will be installed at all toilet entrances.
