SAHA Istanbul, becoming the largest industrial cluster in Turkey in terms of the number of members, celebrates its 6th year of establishment. Founded with 27 members and continuing its growth consistently since its inception, the cluster has reached a total number of 620 members.
A press release issued by cluster on April 12, shared the views of İlhami Keleş, Secretary General of SAHA Istanbul regarding the growth: “We know how important indigenous production is in the defence industry. We are taking firm steps on our path to reduce external dependence in this area. Being the second-largest cluster in Europe, we have made many firsts in the defence industry together with our members so far. By establishing the National Aerospace Industry Committee (MIHENK) within SAHA Istanbul, we have given our country the pride of being the 13th country to successfully complete the process for integration to the European Aerospace Quality Group (EAQG). We started the first MBA program in 2019 and by determining the employment needs of the sector, established SAHA Academy to train qualified managers and opened centres in 3 provinces; Istanbul, Ankara and Gaziantep. Also, our aim is to be one of the top 10 MBA programs in the world in 5 years.”
