Another important stage has been passed in the Armoured Combat Vehicle Modernisation Project, which was initiated by the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) to meet the needs of the Land Forces Command. The preliminary prototype manufactured by ASELSAN and FNSS successfully completed the driving and firing tests within the scope of the project. President of Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced the development on 30 May.

Within the scope of the project, 133 ACVs are equipped with modern weapon systems consisting of domestic and unique solutions and high technology mission equipment at the first stage. Thus, the combat effectiveness and survivability of the vehicles will be significantly increased and their service life will be extended.

ASELSAN, the prime contractor of the project, integrates the NEFER turret equipped with a 25 mm automatic cannon, Laser Warning System, Close Range Surveillance System, Driver Vision System, and Direction Finding and Navigation System in the ACVs. There are commander, gunner, personnel, and driver instrument panels among the integrated systems.

FNSS, which is a subcontractor in the project, carries out maintenance and repair activities of the ACVs. It also integrates the Air Conditioning System and Heating System, as well as the Fire Extinguishing and Explosion Suppression System in the vehicles. In addition, the company increases the level of ballistic and mine protection of vehicles.
