SSB and Kale Arge Shook Hands for ARAT, a New Turbojet Engine

Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and Kale Arge signed a contract dealing with development of ARAT turbojet engine, aimed to be a part of various missiles. The signing ceremony was held on 5 October, and Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries and Osman Okyay, Vice President of Executive Board and President of Technical Division of Kale signed the document.

ARAT will be used not only for cruise missiles, but for applications that require similar amounts of thrust as well. The ARAT engine will be developed using national engineering efforts, and advanced turbojet engine technologies will be used in it. In addition, high thrust, low fuel consumption and superior performance at high altitudes are design goals of the project.
