Tanker Procurement Project Advances Steadily

The sheet cutting ceremony for the first vessel of the Tanker Procurement Project was held on 2 June, with the participation of Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industry Agency. Prof. Dr. Demir held a speech during the ceremony, asserting that the efforts will continue for a strong naval presence in the Blue Homeland.

The Tanker Procurement Project was commenced to replenish fuel and various other supplies to the vessels of Turkish Naval Forces and Turkish Coast Guard Command, both in port and underway. In total, four ships will be constructed in the scope of the project, with DESAN-ÖZATA shipyards as a joint venture.
